In the centre of Castel del Piano, a medieval town on the slopes of Monte Amiata, stands the Hotel and restaurant da Venerio. It's owners, a family with over 50 years experience of providing Tuscan hospitality, create a welcoming atmosphere much appreciated by locals and international travellers alike. Recently renovated in the traditional style, the hotel has 45 rooms large well appointed bedrooms, and all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay. The restaurant, which seats 300 guest, offers all the typical dishes of aur amiata cusine. Made with the finest local produce, the range from "Scottiglia", to wild boar and roast made from our home produced meat. To accompany them, we offer fine Montecucco wine from the nearby vineyard.
Set in one of Italy's most unspoiled environments, the hotel is an ideal base to discover the natural treasures of Monte Amiata. Forest paths offer wonderful walks and small country roads are ideal for mountain biking. Facilities are easy available for renting quads and horse riding. The famed ho springs of Saturnia, San Filippo and Bagni Vignoni are within easy reach, as in the splendid medieval Abbey of San Antimo, where Gregorian chanting can still be heard. The etruscan territory, with its towns of Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana and the Val d'Orcia, recognized as a protected sites by UNESCO, are a short drive away. Only an hour from the Maremma coast, da Venerio offers the best of Amiata's culinary tradition, from Montecucco wine to Pecorino cheese.
